I have been practicing right handed and now I get to start learning left handed. My mentor said it would take up one of our sessions to re-string my guitar to make it left handed and so my mom decided she was going to call around to the guitar stores and she found a store in Hudson. I had to take it to the place and the man was talking to me about playing and he told me that only about 5% of the world plays left handed and it is very rare around here in this area!

Sunday November 1,2009 I spent an hour with my mentor. He watched and listened to me play my notes for "Sweet Home Alabama". He told me that I was doing great and learning fast. I have been practicing on my on and teaching myself the chords. Andrew drew out the chords and I go by that sheet of paper.

I spent an hour with my mentor last Thursday night. I had to show him that I had practiced and tat I know the A and E chords. Since I knew those two chords very well, he wrote down the G, D, and C chords and while he watched I learned to play them and then when I started getting better he got his guitar out and started playing with me! We figured that my final song is going to be Sweet Home Alabama! I am so excited that I am learning to play it fast.

I am going to try to get a hold of my mentor over the phone because he is sick and my mom dont want me to be around him. I am going to have to try ot interview him at chruch tomorrow if he comes and if he dont then I dont know what I am going to do.

I have been working on my research paper and I have 8 pages finished. I have to interview my mentor still and have a quote from him. This project is getting easier as it goes. I have certain things that I do every night. A couple of days ago I stayed up forever typing my research paper.

I have worked on my project and my webpage a lot over the past couple of days. I feel stressed over this senior project but I know in the end that it will be all worth it. I have spent some hours with my mentor learning to paly but he has also taught me some things so I can practice without him being there with him, which i think is pretty neat.

First Day Spent With My Mentor

I was so excited when my mentor pulled into my driveway. I was ready to elarn some chords. I ended up learning the E chord and the A chord in one hour of lessons. My mentor was telling me and showing me how things were going to be done when palying right handed but so far I am loving playing the guitar!

Day 4

I spent some time with my mentor last night and he was telling me how I have to start palying the guitar right handed and then learn to change the chords and play left handed. This is going to take some time but it is going to be tons of fun.

Third Day

I am having so much fun learning how to play. I have learned how to play the E chord, which is a big jump for me. I have been scared and stressed all week because of this project but Mr. Beane tells me that I should not stress because it is going to be so easy and I am more than likely going to pass. He also said that it seems hard but when we come to the end of it I will think it flew by and that it was easy.

First Day #2

My mentor's name is Andrew Shook. I have talked with him and I have to give Mr. Beane his phone number so they can talk. I told my parents what I am going to be working on and they told me they would be there for me. I feel like this project is going to be the best thing that I have ever done. So many people are going to be in this project with me and I know that I will never forget this project.

I have decided to learn how to play the guitar left handed. I have talked to Mr. Beane about my project and he approved it. He told me that my finished product had to be me playing a whole song with lots of different cords in it.
